Money Exchange

Changing Money

The legal tender in Hong Kong is the Hong Kong dollar (HKD). As it is pegged to the US dollar (around HK$7.80: US$1), exchange rates remain quite stable with minor variations at times.

Currency exchange services are available at any authorised money changers in the city. You may refer to this list for money changers accredited by the Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme.

Currency exchange counters at the Hong Kong International Airport are open from early morning till late at night. Most money changers within the city are open until the evening. ATMs are located all over the city and operate 24/7.
