School Fees
Since international schools are privately run, their school fees are significantly higher and may charge additional fees. Starting Costs
- Application fee (usually non-refundable)
- Assessment fee (usually non-refundable)
- Deposit (charged when you accept a placement)
Debenture (also called Nomination Rights/ Capital Notes)
- A one-off advance payment
- Mandatory/ optional; may be refundable
- The amount is calculated per student and may vary enormously across schools
- Buying an individual nomination right before admissions may help to gain interview priority (one nomination for one child at a time), but does not guarantee a place
- Debentures will be used to finance schools’ capital projects
Capital Levy
- An alternative to debenture
- For financing the school’s capital projects
- One-off/ yearly payments
- Usually non-refundable
Annual Tuition
- Can start at around HK$100,000 for primary school and cost up to HK$250,000 for secondary school
- May offer a discount to the third and subsequent child(ren) in a family
- May cover textbooks/ excursions fees etc.
Other Costs
- Extra-curricular activities, school bus, uniforms, school trips, e-learning devices, textbooks and lunch etc.
